The most a single print costs is CA$220: a 24 × 33 in canvas in a natural wood or walnut frame.

Three papers for unframed prints. Framed prints have no paper choice.

Canvas edges

A canvas is stretched over a frame, so its sides show. Choose what they show.

About 3.8 cm of the image wraps around each side (to be confirmed with the print lab). Each painting’s page shows its own canvas from the side before you order.

Frames

Four frames, around a paper print or a canvas. A framed canvas has black edges inside the frame.

Frame prices are added to the print’s price. Framed prints have no paper choice.

How the size changes the crop

Each size has a fixed shape, so the lab trims the image to fill it. Every painting page states the exact trim before you order.

A painting rarely has exactly the shape of a print. The lab enlarges it until it covers the print, centred, and trims what reaches past the edges: a little from two opposite sides, never from all four.

Colour and texture

What a photograph can and cannot carry onto paper and canvas.

Flat
Prints are flat giclée reproductions of a photograph. The texture you see is in the image, not on the surface.
Colour
Colours are matched to the photograph. Every screen shows colour a little differently, and paper and canvas print slightly differently. North light (Lamp off) is the best view for judging colour.
Light
The lamp is a simulation built from photographs. Prints are flat.
Detail
Some paintings were photographed small. When a size would look soft up close, the painting’s page says so, for example: “This photo is 1,080 × 864 px; at 24 × 33 in it will look soft up close.”
Edges
Until a tighter crop is approved, some prints use the photograph as taken, and their edges may show the wall behind the painting. That painting’s page says so.
