The Racial Battle

The composition presents a procession of abstracted human figures in profile, all facing rightward as if walking together toward a shared destination. The figures are rendered with elongated, curved necks and simplified facial features, outlined boldly in black against a deep crimson red background. Their forms are painted in white, cream, black, and flesh tones, with expressive brushwork creating movement and texture. Each figure has distinctive characteristics - different hairstyles rendered as black masses, varied skin tones from pale to tan, and small red eyes that give them an alert, focused quality. Above them floats a circular form with concentric gray and white rings and a red center, suggesting a moon or sun watching over their journey. Below, the figures cast reflections on what appears to be water or a polished surface, with small symbolic figures appearing in the reflection. The artwork evokes a powerful sense of collective journey and shared purpose through its dramatic, high-contrast palette. The deep crimson background creates an atmosphere of intensity and significance, suggesting this is no ordinary journey but a spiritual or ancestral pilgrimage. The white and black figures stand out starkly, their simplified forms suggesting universality - these could be any travelers, any people moving through time and space. The watching celestial eye above adds a dimension of cosmic observation or guidance. The reflections below suggest depth and the way travelers carry their shadows and spirits with them. The painting symbolizes human migration, shared destiny, and the power of moving together toward unknown horizons. The overall atmosphere is ceremonial and purposeful, honoring the ancient human experience of collective travel and transformation.
