Ascension in Coral

The composition presents a densely packed congregation of abstracted bird-like figures, primarily resembling flamingos or herons, with elongated curved necks and rounded bodies that interweave throughout the canvas. The figures are rendered in flowing, organic shapes that merge and overlap, creating a sense of crowded ascension or gathering. Multiple eye-like forms appear scattered throughout the composition, some embedded within the bird figures and others floating independently. A small orange-red sun or moon appears in the upper right corner against a strip of deep blue sky. The central figure appears darker, almost silhouetted, with outstretched wing-like forms reaching upward amidst the coral-colored masses. The artwork evokes a sense of primal congregation and spiritual ascent through its dominant palette of coral pinks, salmon reds, burnt oranges, and mustard yellows, punctuated by deep browns and blacks. The warm chromatic intensity suggests both vitality and ancient ritual, as if witnessing a mythological gathering of souls or creatures at twilight. The symbolism speaks to collective movement, perhaps migration or transcendence, with the upward-gazing figures suggesting aspiration toward something beyond. The overall atmosphere is intensely alive yet mysterious, blending the organic warmth of flesh tones with an almost hallucinatory density that feels both celebratory and slightly unsettling.
