Prayers

The composition presents a layered pastoral and spiritual scene with multiple tiers of figures and animals arranged across a predominantly green and teal canvas. In the upper portion, ghostly standing figures in whites, corals, pinks, and muted tones appear like spirits or ancestors watching over the scene, some with discernible faces and flowing garments. The middle register shows groups of simplified human figures gathered together, rendered in pale cream and white tones with basic outlined forms. Scattered throughout are sheep or lamb-like animals in white, grazing peacefully among the human figures. The lower portion contains more outlined figures and animals in a sketch-like quality. A strip of bright yellow-green suggests a pastoral meadow. Small architectural forms appear on the far left, suggesting distant buildings or a village. The artwork evokes a sense of sacred gathering and pastoral peace through its palette of deep forest greens, teals, soft corals, and ghostly whites layered over darker undertones. The scene suggests a religious or spiritual gathering - perhaps a prayer service or blessing - where the living commune with ancestral presences above. The sheep symbolize innocence, faith, and the biblical imagery of flocks tended by shepherds, connecting themes of spiritual guidance and protection. The layered composition creates a sense of time collapsed, where past and present, earthly and spiritual realms, coexist in sacred space. The overall atmosphere is reverential and dreamlike, capturing a moment of collective devotion where community, nature, and the divine intersect in peaceful harmony beneath the watchful presence of those who came before.
