The City of Reflections

The composition presents a surreal urban landscape populated by elongated humanoid figures arranged in a dome-like architectural formation. At the center, multiple figures with simplified facial features - round eyes and small mouths - emerge from and merge with a central structure resembling an organic cathedral or living building. The figures on the left side stand in a row like ghostly sentinels rendered in pale grays and whites with vertical dripping effects, while the central group displays vibrant magenta, green, purple, and olive tones. A solitary nude figure on the right stands apart, gazing toward the congregation. The dome structure is crowned by a blue figure at the apex with outstretched arms, and fish-like or bird-like creatures appear to swim through the architectural forms. The artwork evokes a haunting sense of collective consciousness and urban alienation through its palette of coral-pink and orange skies contrasting with the deep purples, magentas, and forest greens of the figures below. The dripping paint technique suggests dissolution and impermanence, as if these city dwellers are melting into their environment. There is a spiritual quality to the gathering, reminiscent of a congregation or ritual, yet the cartoon-like eyes give the figures an unsettling, almost bewildered expression. The overall atmosphere is dreamlike and slightly dystopian, capturing the paradox of human connection and isolation within the modern cityscape.
